This takes place on a 24/7 site with a fast turnaround to fully prepare the train for its next journey. We work to a stringent specification that reflects the luxurious standards expected by passengers and Belmond’s image and reputation as a luxury holiday company. With only 3 hour turnaround we are providing 5 star cleaning of 10 cartridges inside and outside.
Our role includes fully cleaning and sanitising train carriages to create a serene and hygienic environment for the next passengers. We also perform a deep clean of the onboard kitchen each season so that the train’s specialist chefs can work in a safe and hygienic environment to create memorable dishes on-the-go.
We were first appointed to deliver a set specification/shift pattern of cleaning tasks. These included full cabin cleans, window and wall cleaning, industrial vacuuming of carpets and litter picking/general spot cleaning.
In addition, we also clean The Royal Scotsman externally, each time train stops in Edinburgh our specialized team is washing this iconic train outside. Once or twice per year train is getting hand polish using the most innovative machines making sure outside look is well maintained.
We also provide an onboard team that cleans the Royal Scotsman during each journey and keeps train in sparkling condition. This ensures that the Royal Scotsman’s passengers enjoy luxurious comfort and cleanliness from start to finish.
